Level

FundamentalAWS’s entry level, for those new to agentic AI

## What you’ll learn

A beginner-friendly introduction to agentic AI: systems that can plan, use tools and take actions to reach a goal, rather than simply answer questions. You’ll learn how agents differ from chat-based AI, explore the AWS tools for building them, and build a simple agent of your own in guided, hands-on labs.

- What makes AI “agentic”, and how it grew out of large language models
- The main types of agents (workflow, autonomous and hybrid) and when each one fits
- AWS tools for agentic AI, including Amazon Quick Suite, Amazon Q Developer and Kiro
- Hands-on lab: speeding up software development with Amazon Q Developer
- Hands-on lab: building your first agent with the Strands Agents SDK, and how Amazon Bedrock AgentCore runs agents at scale
- How agents are monitored and connected to other systems in real-world use

**Designed for people new to agentic AI.** You don’t need to be an expert, but the labs involve some code, so a basic familiarity with programming, AWS and generative AI will help you get the most out of the day.

## How selection works

To keep classes small and hands-on, places are limited and offered through a short selection process. We appreciate your understanding that **submitting this form does not yet confirm your seat.**

1. ### Submit your application

Share your preferred date and a little about your background. It takes about three minutes, and we’ll email you to confirm we’ve received it.
2. ### Application review

Our team will review each application with care and complete the selection within 3 working days.
3. ### Confirm your seat

Successful applicants will receive an email with instructions to complete their registration. **Your seat is confirmed once these steps are done.**

## Laptop requirements

You’ll work through hands-on labs in AWS, so you’ll need **your own laptop for the whole day**. Please make sure it:

- **Has no company or other restrictions.** Work VPNs, firewalls, proxies and security software often block the AWS console and lab sites.
- **Can connect to public Wi-Fi** without needing approval or extra software.
- **Runs an up-to-date browser** such as Chrome, Edge or Firefox.
- **Is fully charged,** and bring your charger too.

Not sure whether your work laptop qualifies? **A personal laptop is usually the safest choice,** or check with your IT team before the course.
